Occidental College Cross Country (2011): Spent her freshman year running at Occidental College…..

Roosevelt HS: Named the school’s Athlete of the Year as a senior, after winning the Eastern League championship and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player… Also earned the MVP award her junior season… Spent two seasons on the cross country team, along with four years on the track and field team, two years on the soccer team and one season with the volleyball team… While on the track team she was a state qualifier in the 800 meters and 1600 meters after winning the LA City Section championship in the 800 metes and finished third in the 1600 meters as a senior… In her junior year, she finished third in the 800 meters, while coming in second place her sophomore year… Won the league championship on the frosh/soph team in the 800 meters, 1600 meters, long jump and ran a leg of the 1600 meter relay as a freshman… Posted personal best times in the 800 meters (2:14) and 1600 meters (5:12)… As a senior on the volleyball team, she was named 1st Team all-league and voted the team captain…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was turning in her personal best time in the 1600 meters at the state meet… Is working on a minor in music and would like to transfer to either UCLA or UC Berkeley… Aspires to be a lawyer… Is a member of a mariachi band, while she sings and also plays the violin… Has five siblings – Lupita (29), Arturo (27), Urie (23), Ivan (21) and Vanessa (11)… Is the daughter of Nicholas Solis and Bacilia Barragan… Born in Boyle Heights, CA on August 27, 1993…..
